The SEEC IT unit is pleased to announce the addition and availability of Section A: Total Contributions from Small Contributors section to the eCRIS Financial Reporting System. This section allows the filers to provide a lump sum amount received from small contributors (A small contributor is an individual who has contributed $50 or less during a given calendar year for Party and Political Action committees and since the date of inception for the Candidate and Exploratory committees) during a given reporting period.
Please make sure that your total for Section A DOES NOT include contribution(s) from small contributors that you enter in Section B.
By putting an amount in Section A you are agreeing to maintain your own aggregates for all small contributors that you do not enter in Section B. Any small contributor that you enter in Section B will remain there. For the purposes of adjusting Aggregate Contributions for a contributor that is no longer deemed to be a small contributor, use the following item in Section B to correct the aggregate contributions amount:

The filers are advised that they must keep internal documentation of the names and addresses of small contributors in Section A in order to determine when an individual has exceeded the $50 threshold, which then requires itemization of that contributor in Section B.
The filers can continue to utilize eCRIS Financial Report system’s built in feature to itemize ALL contributions from ALL contributors in Section B and then choose the filing option to summarize small contributors in Section A. This method, when used properly, allows filers to use eCRIS to keep track of Aggregate Contributions from a given contributor rather than taking on the burden of keeping track of Aggregate Contributions themselves.
The Candidate and Exploratory committees whose candidate intends to participate in the Citizen’s Election Program (CEP) are strongly advised NOT to use Section A as contributions from small contributors can be used to qualify for the CEP grant.
